Layar
From NasaCRgis
Johnson Space Center's cultural resources can now be found on the iPhone and Android application Layar. Layar is an augmented reality browser that enables you to view digital data on top of the real world display shown through your phone’s camera. Layar uses your phone’s GPS and compass to find your location and field of view, retrieve data based on those geographical coordinates, and overlay that data over the camera view.
The Johnson Space Center layer for Layar shows the resources designated as historic or eligible for being a National Historic Landmark or the National Register of Historic Places.
Directions for downloading the Layar application can be found here. If you are in the Johnson Space Center area, you can find the Johnson Space Center layer in the main menu of Layar under the local layers or from a search.
